He has worked with several countries, India, South Africa and Brazil, research institutes to establish
state of art building research laboratories. He has developed and built a state of art hot box and solar
calorimeter for measuring building component and solar panel energy characteristic, and installed
them in India and South Africa under US-DOE program.
Through his company WinBuild and as a US-DOE consultant, he has worked internationally to
develop and establish energy efficiency ratings programs and policies. He specializes in providing
trainings and for establishment of required infrastructure for Energy Efficiency (EE) and Renewable
Energy (RE) technology and testing, essential for implementation of codes and policies. He interacts
internationally with industry, decision makers, technical experts, government officials and
researchers, on work related to building envelope research, policies, technical services, Business

Mr. Kurt Shickman
Kurt is the former Executive Director of the Global Cool Cities Alliance (GCCA). Prior to joining GCCA, he was the Director of Research for the Energy Future Coalition and the United Nations Foundation’s Energy and Climate team. His work involved building broad and diverse coalitions of stakeholders around key clean energy and climate change policies at the local, state, and federal level with a particular emphasis on dramatically scaling up the deployment of energy efficiency in existing residential and commercial buildings. Kurt received his Masters degree with a focus on Energy Policy and Economics in 2007 from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He has also worked in management consulting and corporate finance for several multinational firms including Royal Ahold, MCI Worldcom, and Federal Realty Investment Trust. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University.

Mr. Shwetal Shah
Mr. Shwetal Shah is a Technical Advisor – Climate Change for the Government of Gujarat, India. Climate Policy, Climate Actions, adaptation and mitigation strategies, Climate Finance are his areas of work and interest. He is spearheading activities of Climate Change Department viz. renewable energy policies, State Action Plan on Climate Change, Covenant of Mayors of Gujarat, Promotion of Electric Vehicles in Gujarat, National and International Collaborations and state-wide climate change awareness campaign.
He has obtained M.Tech. (Energy Management) and M.Sc. (Environment Management) from Forest Research Institute University (FRI), Dehradun. He has worked as the Chief Minister’s Fellow during the year 2010-11 with the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and present Prime Minister of India, Mr.Narendra Modi and worked on crucial issues of Resource Conservation, Solid and liquid waste management, Renewable Energy, Marine Debris and Green Buildings.
He is visiting faculty at School of Liberal Studies (SLS), Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU). He has delivered more than 200 talks and presentations on various subjects of climate change, environment management, disaster management in UN, Universities, Conferences, Seminars both at National and International levels. He has also written papers on carbon neutral town concept, vision for Sustainable Development Goal 2030, District Adaption framework, Climate Change Action Plan etc. He has been trained as Climate Leader by former US Vice-President Mr. Al Gore in Los Angeles during 2018. He has travelled in four continents to deliberate on environmental issues.

Dr. Aditi Bunker
Dr. Aditi Bunker is a researcher at Heidelberg Institute of Global Health (HIGH). Her
primary research interest includes testing innovations for human adaptation and
mitigation to climate change using large scale trials. As the recipient of a German
Science Foundation (DFG) grant, Aditi currently leads a climate change adaptation trial
in Africa testing the effectiveness of roofing innovations on environmental and
population health outcomes. Aditi is an experienced statistical modeller on the causal
links between climate change and health, where she has published in journals including
Environmental Health Perspectives, EBiomedicine and BMJ Open. Aditi has taught
time-series analysis on climate change and health at a post-graduate level at Harvard
University. Aditi holds a bachelor of sciences degree in biomedical science (University
of Auckland, New Zealand), master’s in public health (University of Auckland, New
Zealand) and a doctorate in population health (Heidelberg University, Germany).

Dr. Jayaraman Chillayil
Dr. Jayaraman Chillayill has 28 years of industrial experience and holds a PhD in Energy Management from Amrita School of Business, which he pursued after taking voluntary retirement from BPCL Kochi Refinery where he held the post of Senior Manager, Projects.
He has also served as Deputy Director of Albertian Institute of Science and Technology, Kochi; Principal Advisor – Energy for Team Sustain Ltd, Kochi and as Electrical Safety Trainer for Tracez Training and Consultancy Services, Muscat.
Dr. Jayaraman was a Fulbright Scholar, at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, California under Fulbright Nehru Environmental Leadership program in 2010 and as Fulbright Kalam Climate Change Doctoral Fellow in 2018-19.
He has won the State Award from Energy Management Centre, Government of Kerala in 2010, and is the founder Vice President and past General Secretary of Society of Energy Engineers and Managers (SEEM- a professional body of Energy Managers and Auditors), founder and present General Secretary of Energy Press (a leading Publication group that publishes Energy Efficiency Manager). He was the first Kerala State Coordinator of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), an organisation under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
He has published several research papers and has edited a publication by Science and Technology Centre for NAM countries, New Delhi on Cleaner Production and Sustainable Development. He holds a B.Tech from NIT, Calicut and an MBA from IGNOU, India.

Dr. Robert Tenent
Dr. Tenent is a senior scientist in the Materials Science Center at NREL. Prior to joining NREL, he brought an early stage company out of a collaboration between North Carolina State University and the University of California-Riverside. This company (ZettaCore, Inc.) was founded to commercialize one of Science Magazine's Break Through Technologies of the year in 2001 in the field of molecular electronics. Dr. Tenent still maintains substantial partnerships within the entrepreneurial community at local, national and international levels and acts as an advisor to multiple early stage companies. He helped found the Rocky Mountain Section of the Materials Research Society (RM-MRS). This organization provides a forum for local companies as well as scientist and engineers to network and learn about materials science based entrepreneurship on the Front Range. He continues to work with multiple early stage companies through various programs at the Department of Energy as well as through NREL based technology incubators and is currently a Fellow of the Colorado Cleantech Industry Association (CCIA).
Dr. Tenent's research interests range from characterization of fundamental electrochemical processes in a variety of systems to the integration of new materials into large scale architectural applications. He presently leads NREL's research program in advanced technologies for architectural window applications. He was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC) which develops the scientific and engineering principles to define architectural window performance internationally. Dr. Tenent's research in building technologies cuts across multiple organizations within NREL including early stage technology development, building energy modeling, techno-economic analysis and technology demonstration and evaluation efforts. His interests in fundamental electrochemical processes build off of formal training as an electroanalytical chemist and focuses on understanding processes occurring immediately at electrode/electrolyte interfaces using a variety of methods. Dr. Tenent received a B.S. in Chemistry from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS (1994) and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Mississippi State University (2000).
